All About Me............

I got (what I hope) was my last stretch today, so I can eat semi-normally again. All I need to do is wait for my new surgery scheduled for the 22nd. Hopefully it will get everything squared away and I can get back to normal.

My project pile is shrinking just a wee bit, I started working on several items to include a walking staff for my sister-in-law, a renovation on a sword for my messmate Chris, and re-gripping two cutlasses for myself.

I have also tried to catch up on my reading. Still working on historical tomes (I am delving into the history of the Russian/Finnish war of 1939-1940) but also a bunch of other stuff. I am re-reading some of Col. Jeff Cooper's works, and just to break the trend, I added a wee bit of brain candy. I got a copy of Monster Hunters International as well as The Zombie Survival Guide from Rick and Miss Nancy for Christmas. I have just finished M.H.I. ( A cracking good read) and have started T.Z.S.G. This monster stuff is pretty good escapist stuff. Takes me back to the days of my youth and it's monster movies and models. I have my eye on two other volumes that I might get, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (Miss Nancy is reading that one now) and Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters.

And so it goes..............

P&P&Z was okay. It lacked Austen's wicked satire, and some of the anachronisms bothered me (hay bales?) more than they should have. And I thought the illustrations were awful (research, people! *grin*) and detracted from the story, but it was good overall brain candy. It’s worth the price just have sitting on the book shelf in the guest room between the C.S. Forester and the Clancy.

I wonder how Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters will compare? We should sell ourselves as consultants to all these budding authors.

I STILL can't post comments on your blog. Chris said it's because your format is different than what we use and I have "something" wrong with my system.

I hope you don't spend NEAR the time near doctors as you did last time. You had me worried half to death.

Hi Lady!

Rest assured I will do everything in my power to get the h*ll out of there as soon as possible. I am sure that the doctors feel the same way about getting me out of there since I now refer to the Doctor of record as the "Angel of Death" and told him if I didn't make it this time, I would haunt him forever.

I make a wonderful patient, but I do make the other patients and nurses laugh. -grin-

Mike,

I heard a rumor that they've already signed the contract for the movie version of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, with Natalie Portman

Well it makes me scratch my head. Maybe I will get up with a buddy so HE can figure it out, I sure can't.

I could stand Natalie, but I would take out my eyeballs and stomp them flat if they made the movie with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.
